NEWS-The Police in Rukungiri have arrested three people in connection to the killing a juvenile.
The incident happened on Thursday 27th January 2022 at around 2:00am and it was later reported to police by Dafuroza Mukafere a 65 year old a resident of Nyakatembe A Cell, Kikarara Parish, Bwambara Sub-county, in Rukungiri District.
The Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate identified the deceased as Amos Turyamuhweza 1year & 6 months old and the son to a 22 year old Fellistar Tukwasibwe from the same area.
However, Elly Maate identified the suspects as Jackson Twinamasiko 37 years, Cypriano Garubanda 25years both maternal uncles of the deceased and residents of the same area and Fellistar Tukwasibwe the mother to the deceased.
It is said that the mother of the deceased produced him while at their ancestral home where by the father of the deceased by names of Nyamuhemba Venancio a fishmonger at Rwenshama Landing Site , Rwenshama Parish, Bwambara Sub-county in Rukungiri district was not providing any necessities.
It’s further alleged that the above deceased’s father’s act made the mother to connive with the two brothers and killed the deceased by cutting him.
The scene of crime was visited by homicide team and SOCO and it was documented.
Postmortem was done and the deceased’s body was handed over to the relatives for burial.
A case of murder by cutting was recorded at Rukungiri CPS vide registration number CRB 082/ 22 as further inquiries into the matter continue.
