WAKISO-Police are investigating circumstances under which a 9 years old girl commits suicide after being told by her grandmother to wash utensils.
The deceased has been identified as Esther Zalwango a resident of Kiryagonja, Matugga in Wakiso district and the incident happened yesterday Thursday.
Reports indicate that Zalwango was told by her grandmother Hadijah Nakiwala to wash utensils but the deceased picked all utensils and placed them on the verandah plus water.
After, the grandmother went to buy diapers only to come back with no trace of Zalwango and she tried to check in the toilet where Nakiwala found the girl hanging inside.
The area police were then informed about the incident and it responded immediately where the body was conveyed to Mulago city mortuary for postmortem as inquiries continue.
Police said that the cause of alleged suicide is not known as there are numerous allegations against the grandmother which the law enforcement body is looking into.
