NEWS-The Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen has asked people to continue positively responding to the government’s call for COVID-19 vaccination.
Bewayo revealed this while speaking with our reporter during about how people have responded to mass vaccination in the district.
Bewayo revealed that Rukungiri district last week received 158,000 dozes of Mordana for mass covid 19 vaccination and as of Thursday December 2nd 2021, over 90,000 dozes were already administered.
According to Bewayo, the campaign was supposed to last for a week but the government instructed them to extend it until the vaccines are used up.
The RDC however urged the public to reject the negative and baseless stereotypes being associated with Covid-19 vaccines but rather respond positively for the betterment of their lives.
Nsubuga also warn people who are misleading others through false messages associated with the vaccine explaining that whoever is caught will be arrested and charged accordingly.
He warned leaders of Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) in Kakindo Bugangari Sub County who are misleading believers to turn against the vaccination campaign narrating that the habit should stop with immediate effect.
Bewayo added that by telling people that the vaccines may not be able to stop someone from contracting the virus would reduce public’s compliance.
He as well asked the vaccinated people to keep observance of COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures for their safety.
