NEWS- The Rukungiri District Resident District Commissioner Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen has called for calm amongst Rukungiri District Residents after unknown goons suspected to be panga wielding assailants dropped threatening leaflets in Buyanja Sub County.
The leaflets were dropped in Kisharara village, Rubanga parish, Buyanja Sub County the machete wielding assailants threatening to cut off heads of people including unidentified village chairpersons in Buyanja and Kebisoni sub counties.
The leaflets indicate that residents should get back home as early as possible to help the assassins save time in pursuing their mission.
However, Nsubuga who heads the district security says security authorities are already on the ground and ready to face off anyone behind these threats.
The RDC notes that together with Sub County authorities and sister security teams they have already beefed up security intelligence and are already tracing the links and sources of these letters.
Nsubuga went on to advise the youths not to be used by people with their intentions to terrorize the public, revealing that they will be arrested and charged accordingly.
Nsubuga urged people to always respond to fellows’ alarms especially during night time stressing that such combined efforts will be able to help in curbing down this wave of criminality.
The Buyanja Sub County Chairperson Agaba Emmy Rubondo confided to this reporter that the leaflets indicate that the machete wielding assailants have set October 3rd 2021 as the date to start executing their mission.
