RUKUNGIRI- The Rukungiri Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Karen Kagisha has commended Police officers for their cooperation and discipline with the community and local leaders, a situation that has enabled their smooth running of their daily activities.
Kagisha made the marks during the Rukungiri District Police Station end-of-year party at Rukungiri Inn Hotel in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.
The Assistant RDC urged the public to seek Police guidance and services instead of avoiding and tarnishing them with fake and baseless rumors.
Kagisha advised police officers to ensure steadiness fastness in safeguarding Ugandans together with their property and to handle any arising issues professionally. With this, Kagisha is optimistic that they will build public trust which is crucial especially as the political season knocks.
The Rukungiri District Police Commander- DPC Apollo Kyangungu used the same function to urge the Officers to prioritize their Families in everything they do pointing out that after retirement, illness, or work-related challenges, family members are the ones who provide support.
Kyangungu referred to this as a follow-back position, cautioning the officers to keep in mind that their families matter a lot.
He also encouraged the officers to be welcoming to the public; just as businessmen and women treat their customers with courtesy stressing that people seeking police assistance deserve respect and should be served satisfactorily.
ASP. Michael Kisakye, the Officer In Charge of Rukungiri Central Police Station aksed fellow men and women in uniform to adhere to professionalism while executing their duties in accordance with the institutional code of conduct, reminding them that transparency and accountability are key in whatever decision they take.
The function was graced by a number of prominent businessmen and women, civil servants, media among many others.
