NEWS-As some people prepare to celebrate ahead of the New Year, the Rukungiri District Police Commander SP. Musa Tibakirana has warned them against organizing crowds as the country continues to battle with the Covid 19 pandemic.
SP. Tibakirana revealed that there has been laxity in adhering to the set Standard Operating Procedures leading to a surge in Covid 19 cases especially during this period of Christmas adding that the operation this time as we wait the New Year will be tough especially targeting crowded places.
SP Tibakirana says that as people celebrate the New Year, they should bear in mind that Curfew starts at 7:00pm, no fireworks are allowed, no overnight prayers, Bars are closed and concerts are prohibited.
SP Tibakirana who wished the people of Rukungiri and Uganda a happy new year 2022 appealed to them to strictly follow and observe SOPs and stay home as they stay safe.
