Rukungiri man arrested for killing biological son

Police in Rukungiri district are holding a 27 year old man for allegedly cutting off ahead of his 5 year old son.

The Rukungiri District Police Commander SP. Musa Tibakirana identified the deceased as Akampa Wickliffe male juvenile and the resident of Nyakahanga A cell Masya parish in Nyakagyeme Sub County and the suspect is the biological father one identified as Kahinda Fred 27 years old man from the same residence.

It’s alleged that on 27/07/2020 at about 07:00am, Ndagire Vangi grandmother to the deceased left the grand son and suspect still sleeping in her house where they all stay in at Nyakahanga ‘A’ cell masya parish nyakagyeme s county rukungiri district and went to the garden.

At about 3pm of the same day, she returned back from the garden and found Akampa Wickliffe (the deceased) not at home which prompted her to begin tracing in the neighborhood.

One neighbor Bonabantu Jovanis disclosed to her that the deceased was picked from her place by the suspect who at the same time had requested for a panga from her claiming that he was going to work in his banana plantation.

Having got that information, Vangi went back to her home where she asked the suspect who was at home by that time and he replied her that the deceased had gone to play.

However in her own observation, Vangi saw mopped blood stain with ash poured on top in her sitting room.

With suspicion she continued around her premises and while entering her latrine she saw ash on the floor of the latrine and clothes stained with blood inside the latrine.

She then reported the matter to Mugume Christopher the lc1chairperson who joined her in the search of the deceased in which the juvenile’s body was found buried in the banana plantation without a head.

Mugume then reported the matter to rukungiri police.

Detective from Rukungiri police visited the scene of crime and the head identified to be of the deceased recovered in the basin under the bed of the suspect.

The body of the deceased was retrieved and taken to rwakabengo health center ii mortuary pending postmortem as investigations commence.
