NEWS- The Rukungiri District Education officer, Turyahumura Jackson, has asked Sacco members to ensure financial discipline and avoid reckless spending if they are to alleviate themselves from poverty.
Turyahumura made the remarks during the 21st annual general meeting of Rukungiri District Employees Sacco where he was the guest of honor.
In a meeting that took place at Riverside Hotel in Rukungiri municipality, Turyahumura said that by reducing unnecessary spending, people will be able to raise the capital required to start their own businesses.

He emphasized that the members should always have plans and budgets before acquiring loans if they are to benefit from them, urging them to always protect their dignity.
Atuheire Caroline the Rukungiri district commercial officer noted that the government has done a lot to make people rich, but the challenge remains mindset and asked people to go slow on non-developmental issues and focus on getting out of poverty.
Atuhaire hailed the Sacco BOD and asked them to keep the trend of tremendous performance, urging them to strengthen the internal control of the system to ensure social and economic transformation within the Sacco.

Tayebwa Pamela the manager said they’re still faced with a challenge of members not increasing the number shares and the poor saving culture.
She thus requested for cooperation within staff members since the membership is growing steadily and as administration promised to keep mobilizing in all sub counties for more membership.
