NEWS– Happiness overwhelmed residents in Nyakagyeme Sub county and southern division Rukungiri municipality as rehabilitation works commenced at Kitengure bridge in Rukungiri district months after its destruction.
The rehabilitation works on Kitengure bridge that connects Nyakagyeme sub county in Rukungiri district and southern Division of Rukungiri municipality commenced on 4th October 2024 by M/S SBR General Supply and Construction Ltd.
Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa the Rukungiri municipality legislator who is also the Rukungiri district roads committee head applauded the ministry of works and transport for allocating over 688m to elect a bridge and rehabilitate Kitengure road (0.9)km.
Rutahigwa thanked his fellow area Members of Parliament Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi Katugugu, Hon. Naboth Namanya and Hon. Medias Natukunda Kaharata for the exhibited cooperation in providing services to the people of Rukungiri.
He urged the contractor to consider doing quality work if the bridge is be of help to the people who use it.
