RUKUNGIRI- Leaders have been urged to set aside their political and personal differences and embrace unity for the common good of areas they represent.
The call was on Tuesday made by the Rukungiri Assistant Resident District Commissioner Ms. Kallen Kagisha during the construction launch of Bikurungu Seed Secondary School in Bikurungu town council Rukungiri district.
The construction of Bikurungu Seed Secondary School is going to cost 1.94B shillings, a contract which was awarded to Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Co. Ltd.
Speaking during the launch, Kagisha revealed that the district top leadership’s positive working relationship is the reason these services are happening, urging other leaders to follow suit in order to help the people they represent.
She says the construction of Bikurungu Seed Secondary School is part of government efforts to ensure that all sub-counties across the country have a seed school.
Kagisha challenged Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Co. Ltd to do diligent work, because the government has put a lot of money into constructing a Secondary school for the community.

At the event, Hajji Masokoyi Wasswa, the Rukungiri Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), encouraged people of Bikurungu to embrace the project and use it to improve their financial situation.

Karuhanga Nicholas, the Rukungiri district civil engineer, says the project construction works are going to last for 18 months. Karuhanga says among the description of work include, three blocks each with two classrooms, two laboratory blocks, two unit teachers’ house, ICT Library block, toilets for boys and girls among others.
Kajuna Wallen Mayor Bikurungu town council and community members expressed their happiness for having been given a public school as this will now uplift the standards of education in the town council.
