NEWS– The police have successfully recovered three suspected stolen cows from thieves.
Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine police spokesperson revealed that the cows were on Sunday 8th December 2024 recovered after the police in Kakumiro impounded a motor vehicle, UBD 356B a Toyota Super custom which was carrying them.
According to Hakiza, the vehicle was intercepted between Kakindu and Kihuna along Hoima road following a tip-off from a resident.
He noted that the occupants fled leaving behind three cows, one of which was dead.
The police spokesperson stressed that a document discovered in the vehicle indicated that the cows originated from Kasangati in Wakiso.
However preliminary police investigations show that the cows were stolen from Butema sub-county in Hoima district.
“We are working with locals to identify the owner of the animals”, he added.
