A Police Constable attached to Makokoto police post has shot and killed himself in the wee hours today.
The deceased has been identified as, 47-year old Alex Kitiyo, registered under police Number 1037
Police statement says at about 5:00AM while at Makokota trading center Kitiyo, woke up and aimed the gun into the room of the station in charge IP John Kakooza and shot several bullets, without saying a word, before killing himself.
Racheal Kawala, the Wamala region police spokesperson, says they are handling a case of attempted murder and suicide by shooting.
Kawala says a team of police officers commanded by ASp Halera Urban O.C station kassanda police station and the D/CID AsP Mboowa Yasin Galiwango booked out to the scene of crime on information .she adds that crime scene has been cordoned off for processing .
According to police Relevant statements are being recorded to guide on investigation.
