Police launch child & family protection induction training curriculum, manuals

NEWS– The Uganda Police force have launched launched the Child and Family Protection Induction Training Curriculum and Manuals.

The training curriculum and manuals were on Thursday 14th November 2024 launched by James Ocaya, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in an event held at Mestil Hotel in Kampala.

According to Ocaya, the launched manuals aim at enhancing police officers’ handling of sensitive issues related to children and families which he said will foster a safer environment for vulnerable groups.

He revealed that the manuals will also improve the prevention and response strategies for family-related matters.

Ocaya expressed his appreciation for the technical team led by SCP Dr. Kamya John and consultant Mr. Robert Tumusiime along with partners and Civil Society Organizations.

He particularly appreciated the International Development Law Organization (@IDLO) and the Swedish Embassy for their support in developing these tools.
