KISORO-Police in Kisoro is holding a Police officer on allegations of defiling a 16 years old girl.
Elly Maate the kigezi Regional police spokesperson identified the suspect as Inspector of police Habineza Vianny attached to Bunagana boarder station who allegedly had carnal knowledge with his maid whom he impregnated.
This was during the month of Feb, 2021, realized the pregnancy in April until the month of September when was hospitalized in labour, that’s when she reported, leaving the suspect to flee
Maate narrated that the house maid was recruited in January 2020 and was staying in the suspect’s home in Rutare village Chahi sub county Kisoro district.
Maate said that the suspect was arrested on the 16/02/2022 at Kigezi regional headquarters at Kabale and because his case file was already sanctioned, was produced in Kisoro magisterial court before his worship Gidudu Fred grade two magistrate, who remanded him to Kisoro prisons until 22/03/2022 when will be back for mention.
He was charged with aggravated defilement because he should have protected the victim as a person in authority over the said girl under the age bellow 18 years old.
The Case of aggravated defilement has been registered at kisoro central polio station under the reference number CRB 070/2022
