NEWS– A total of 103 trainees at National Unity Platform school of leadership have been awarded with certificates following the completion of their first level.

This was in a colourful function held on 4th November 2024 at the party head offices in Makerere Kavule.

The day’s awardees are part of the inaugural class which enrolled in June this year when the school opened its gates to the public.

The NUP school of leadership is part of the party efforts to foster quality leadership and provide a new breed of leaders who will restore integrity, transparency and accountability in the country as they apply what they’ve learnt from the modules we’ve been teaching them.

The school leadership thanked all awardees whom they said have braved all sorts of challenges to accomplish their studies and in a special way they appreciated the parents and tutors who have supported these comrades in this journey of learning.

At the function, the opposition Alliance for National Transformation President Gen. Greg Mugisha Muntu graced the occasion as a guest speaker shared his words of encouragement and appreciation emphasizing the importance of discipline in a struggle.

The NUP School of Leadership head facilitator Doreen Kaija congratulated the awardees ‘for braving all sorts of risks like possible abductions by the regime security agents’.

She appreciated the tutors and the party leadership for supporting the school and tasked the awardees to go back to their respective communities and apply the wisdom and skills they have attained from the school noting that the school shall at an appropriate moment communicate the next intake for new learners to enroll.

Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi wine the NUP Principal revealed that their comrades were trained under three distinct classes (elected leaders, professionals, and foot soldiers) and have now completed the first of three levels of training offered at the school.
