NEWS– The Rubanda District Allocation committee (DAC) has received 8000kg of maize grains and 8000 of been seeds from NAADS through Pearl seeds limited to be distributed to farmers for this season.
The district Allocation committee is composed of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Chief Administrative officer (CAO), LCV chairperson, district auditor and the district store keeper.
Speaking to our reporter, the district production officer Muhangi Benon said that the beneficiary farmers will be drawn from 17 sub counties and town councils making up Rubanda district.
Muhangi noted that every sub-county and town council will receive 380 kilograms of seeds and allocation committees will get the names of farmers from the parishes.
“Each parish representative will get 10kg of beans and maize” said Muhangi.
He calls on farmers not to sell or cook these seeds but rather take them to gardens and plant them since it is planting season.
The Rubanda District Chairman Ampeire Steven Kasyaba hailed NAADs and the supplier for timely delivery of the donation since it’s currently a planting season.
