NEWS- The Rukungiri Municipality legislator Hon Dr Elisa Rutahigwa has commended the good role that was done by the late Francis Kayonga who was a strong NRM party supporter and mobilizer in Rukungiri Municipality.
Hon Rutahigwa made the remarks today while speaking as the chief mourner at the send-off of 103 year old Kayonga in Nyakashaka cell, Kyotoko ward, Eastern division in Rukungiri Municipality.
The legislator commended the late for his outstanding achievements in parenting and supporting the development of his area adding that he has also been his good political adviser from the onset.
The legislator told mourners that he has been able to lobby for service from the government like the ongoing upgrading of Rukungiri health centre IV, renovation of a number of roads among other services hence calling for more support in the forthcoming general elections.
While leading the send-off mass at the, Rev Fr. Elias Katsigaire the Nyarushanje parish priest condemned increasing domestic violence cases, calling for salvation to save the next generation. Katsigaire rallied mourners to emulate the Kayonga’s religious trait who he described as a strong Catholic and church pillar in both Christ the King and Nyakibale parishes.
Augustine Kayonga on behalf of his 12 children hailed the father for educating them equally; stressing that he has left behind teachers and health workers.
Late Francis Kayonga was born 1922 dying at age 103 and left 10 children, 34 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren and his widow Janerose Kayonga.
