MBARARA- A somber mood on Tuesday engulfed the administration and staff of Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital after the body of their missing colleague, Judith Kyarisiima, was found dead.
The 52-year-old senior midwife, in charge of the maternal and child health unit, was discovered on the shores of River Rwizi in Lugazi cell , Mbarara city on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
Kyarisiima had been missing since September 2, 2024, when she was last seen around 7:00 p.m. at her home in Katete Central, Mbarara City.
SP Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi Region police spokesperson, stated that the deceased’s body was discovered in Lugazi Cell along the shores of the Rwizi River.
The body has been taken to the Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem.
He also mentioned that the woman’s husband, along with three others, has been arrested, but he refrained from disclosing their identities to protect the family’s reputation
