The Minister for Security who is also the Rujumbura County area Member of Parliament Hon. Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has commended women for actively contributing to Nation-building through various endeavors.
Minister Jim Muhwezi made the call Sunday speaking as the guest of honor during Mary’s day celebrations at Nyakinengo Church of Uganda in Nyakinengo Parish, Nyakagyeme Sub County Rukungiri district.
The day was organized by Mothers’ Union with the intention to raise funds for the construction of women’s washrooms at Nyakinengo Church of Uganda. Addressing the Christians, Minister Jim Muhwezi who was represented by his Political Assistant Isaac Kaharuza urged women to maintain the same enthusiasm for the nation’s progress, stating that they had virtually shaped their homes and the nation as a whole.
Reflecting on Uganda’s journey in promoting gender equality, Muhwezi highlighted significant milestones the NRM government has registered in uplifting the status of women.

Kaharuza told residents of Nyakinengo that Minister Jim Muhwezi is committed to creating a better future for them in terms of service delivery, highlighting his main areas of focus as water and sanitation, improved road networks, electricity, health and education among others as he was informed during the recent concluded community dialogue he facilitated.
