RUKUNGIRI- Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi, the Minister of Security and Member of Parliament for Rujumbura in Rukungiri on Monday, March 10th 2025 convened a community meeting (Baraza) with stakeholders and locals in Rujumbura constituency, Rukungiri District.
The gatherings at Nyakinengo and Katoma Parishes aimed at discussing development projects and new initiatives, focusing on key areas such as road construction, water provision, electricity and other related services
Attendants included the district officials from the Ministry of energy and National Water and Sewerage Corporation, district engineers, and locals from Nyakinengo and Katoma parishes in Nyakagyeme Sub County.
The discussion centered on district’s development plans, emphasizing improved access to essential services.
Specific projects mentioned during the meeting included routine, mechanized, and periodic maintenance of roads to enhance access to social services.
Additionally, the construction of new water points, rehabilitation of broken water sources, and construction of sanitation facilities were highlighted.
The meetings also demonstrated the government’s commitment to developing Rujumbura County and improving the lives of its residents.
