Youth have been urged to promote politics of interest in order to maintain peace and stability in Uganda.
The call was made yesterday Sunday by Elder Silver Rukarama during the delivery of fifty bags of cement to Rwobuyojwa Church of Uganda in Buhunga Sub County Rukungiri district.
The cement was given by Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi and would aid the church in its ongoing construction of a school.
Speaking at the event, Rukarama, a fervent supporter of NRM and Minister Jim Muhwezi’s political advisor, claimed that, in contrast to politics of interest, politics of identity, which are primarily based on tribes and religions is counterproductive, distracting, and frequently the root of political instability in nations, citing Somalia, Sudan, Libya, and the Congo as examples.
According to Rukarama, since President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s NRM government took power, the country has stabilized in terms of peace, security, and growth, allowing everyone to go about their own business without interference.
However, he advised young people to make the most of the favorable conditions that the nation currently enjoys rather than wasting their time battling and criticizing the government since they never knew what may occur if it changed.
Rukarama expressed gratitude to Hon. Jim Muhwezi for his outstanding support and development of Buhunga Sub County throughout his period in office, noting that they have seen it and are prepared to back him once again for continuity in the next general elections.
Isaac Kaharuza, Minister Jim Muhwezi’s political assistant, revealed that he is helping the church lessen the financial burden that Christians bear when it comes to paying the tithe that these churches impose on them when they undertake specific projects.
Hon. Jim Muhwezi, according to Kaharuza, is going above and beyond to make sure that people receive better services.
Chairperson of Buhunga Sub County Lc3 Mr. Mugisha Benon, also known as Aunt, stated during the event that it is time to support those like Jim Muhwezi who bring services closer to the people instead of those who are in politics for personal benefit.
Mugabe Abel Kaberina, the head of laity at Rwobuyojwa Church of Uganda, , expressed gratitude to God for Minister Jim Muhwezi’s ongoing support of their many church initiatives.
Mugabe affirmed that in order to ensure the continuation of progress, they, as Christians of the Rwobuyojwa Church of Uganda, must support Minister Jim Muhwezi in the general elections of 2026 because of his outstanding efforts.
James Turyamushangayo and Allen Kyomukama, two churchgoers, commended Minister Jim Muhwezi for his outstanding contribution to the school’s development, pointing out that by promoting education, he is helping to shape the future leaders of the community.
