NEWS– The President of the Republic of Uganda HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commended the Catholic church for supplementing government efforts of providing quality access to medical services to the people of Uganda to improve on the physical wellbeing on top of providing for their souls.
This was contained in his message delivered by the Premier Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja at a ceremony to celebrate Lubaga hospital’s 125 years of service and dedication held at the hospital grounds.
During the 22nd November 2024 event, the President congratulated Lubaga Hospital upon reaching this milestone of celebrating 125 years and prayed for greater success in the years ahead.
Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja recognized the Hospital’s commitment to excellence and its tireless efforts to improve healthcare outcomes for Ugandans.
According to Nabbanja, Lubaga hospital has progressed in pushing boundaries to save lives from providing neonatal services to seeking accreditation for organ transplant operations which he said is a great achievement.
During the jubilee celebrations, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja generously handed over the President’s contribution of Ugx 30M and an addition of Ugx 10M from herself.
At the function, the Specialist Center Block was officially commissioned.
The Catholic Church owned institution first opened its gates for the patients way back in 1899 and is still one of the best health facilities in the country.
