Police in Kabale has registered a fatal road accident along Kabale -katuna road The incident according to kigezi region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate involved MotorVehicle reg no. KCG 888F scania bus blue in colour belonging to Simba company and reg no.RAF 063T Benz maroon in colour .Maate identified the driver of the bus as papa Ismail 40yr a Kenyan national The accident happened on Thursday 22/06/2023at about 10:30pm at kitumba kabale district on Kabale -katuna road killing three people leaving several others critically injured . Maate identifies the injured as Ruth Athieno Female aged 42yr a Kenyan and Niyoshuti Theogene) Rwandee. Both were rushed to Kabale referral hospital. Police says the bus had 14 passengers and only 1 one person got injured . It’s alleged that the driver Benz who was driving from Kabale side left his lane and drove on the opposite lane there by colliding head on with the bus which was coming from katuna side and on the right lane. However the driver of the bus however much was on the right lane, he was at a high speed. Both Motor Vehicles were towed to CPS Kabale pending Iov’s inspection.
