JUST IN! North Kigezi Caretaker Bishop ordains 9 priests, retires 3

RUKUNGIRI-Rev. Can. James Rutaraka of Kitunga Archdeaconry in South Ankore diocese has encouraged newly ordained priests to use the word of God as their package since they move to preach the gospel.

Rev. Rutaraka was preaching at the ordination of nine Deacons a function held at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano in western division Rukungiri Municipality.

The ordained Deacons include Tumwebaze Obed, Muhwezi Joseph, Musinguzi Amos, Ayebare Brenda, and Agaba Arthur among other deacons.

Preaching at the function, Can. Rutaraka revealed that for newly ordained priests to succeed, they need to use the word of God accordingly as they preach the gospel since it was their call.

At the function, Bishop Tugume asked the priests to cooperate with Christians and be ready to serve their roles adding that new transfers will be made soon especially to replace retired clergy.

Also three priests retired from service and the trios include Rev Evas Chwekyere who served for 21 years as parish priest At Rwakyirungura Church of Uganda, Rev. James Mpugirehi, Rev Can. Dr Patrick Mbaasa who has been serving at Bishop Baram University Kabale for 24 years. 

The function was also attended by the Rukungiri District Woman Legislator Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata who asked the newly ordained priests to serve their areas allocated for in good faith for the development of the church.
