NEWS– The Mityana Municipality member of parliament Hon. Francis Zaake Butebi has threatened a legal action against his counterpart of Kilak North MP Anthony Akol.
In the letter dated 7th November 2024, Hon. Francis Zaake through Lukwago & Co advocates wrote a notice with an intention to sue Hon. Anthony Akol.
According to the notice, Zaake intends to sue Hon Anthony Akol for assault and battery.
This follows Zaake’s discharge from the hospital after he was beaten to pulp in parliament by Akol as the August house discussed the controversial National Coffee Amendment Bill 2024.
Hon. Francis Zaake Butebi accuses his counterpart Hon. Anthony Akol for “physically assaulting him like a wild animal” on the floor of parliament.
Zaake took to his socials to announce his instruction to his legal team to sue Akol.
“Upon being discharged from hospital, I have instructed my lawyers to take swift legal action against Mr. Akol Anthony (MP Kilak North) for physically assaulting me like a wild animal on the floor of Parliament as we debated the coffee Bill”, he said.
