Four people have been arrested for questioning over the murder of the Chairman LCII Nyamitsindo Parish Mash Subcounty in Isingiro District.
SSP Samson Kasasira Rwizi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident to journalists identifying the deceased Mr.Byenyinemwe Ben aged 64years.
According to Kasasira the four individuals apprehended include Kiconco Sylivia female adult aged 56years wife of the deceased,Katushabe Aloysious male adult 40years son to the deceased,Yebuuze Ronald male adult 33years son to the deceased and Tukwatanise Moses male adult 30years a neighbour’s son of the deceased.
Its alleged that On the 22/10/2023 at about 9:00 pm Police of Masha received information from Mr.Kato the defence secretary of Nyamitsindo Parish regarding the murder of the Chairman LCII.
Police dispatched a team of officers to the scene that also include the Police Canine Unit and on arrival the deceased’s body was found lying on his bed in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the neck.
According to the wife who was present at the time, she claimed that assailants attacked the deceased while she was in the store and only met three individuals coming out of the house that also assaulted her as they fled the scene.
When the Police Canine dog was introduced to the scene of crime it led the officers to Nyakagyera cell Kabingo subcounty about 10kms from the scene entering the house of his son Yebuuze Ronald and later proceeded to the house of Tukwatanise Moses his neighbour.
According to preliminary investigations the couple had developed Domestic misunderstandings after the deceased married a second wife which created drifts in family.
The body of the deceased was taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem and the four suspects are in Police Custody to help with investigations. Inquiries into the matter are still ongoing.
