RUKUNGIRI– The Archdeacon of Kakinga Archdeaconry in Kebisoni Sub County in Rukungiri District, Ven Rev Amos Katushabe, has asked people from all religious backgrounds to be truthful in their lives in order to live a peaceful life and leave an everlasting legacy.
Rev Katushabe made the remarks on Sunday while leading virtual 2nd memorial service of the late Charles Byabakama Kwebangira the former LC 5 Chairman for Rukungiri who died in 2019.
The function took place at his residence in Nyamambo Village, Central Ward Parish in Kebisoni Town Council Rukungiri District and was attended by only family members due to Coronavirus pandemic guidelines.
Rev Katushabe described the late Byabakama as an aimable leader having been a Chairman for Kebisoni Sub county, Rukungiri LC 5 Chairman, RDC for Rukungiri and Yumbe Districts and the first Mayor for Kebisoni Town Council.
The Archdeacon said that the late Byabakama loved to speak the truth and ensured that the people he led lived a peaceful life.
Speaking about their departed father, the children in unison praised their Byabakama for having left a legacy they promised to keep shinning since their late father loved them.
The widow Phoebe Byabakama praised her husband who he described as a loving father, citizen and family leader whose legacy will last for long.
The function was also attended by the Town Clerk Kebisoni Town Council who said that he lost a friend because he had just been posted to the Town council when Byabakama died. He noted that for a short time they had worked together, Byabakama was a straight forward man who loved the truth.
Byabakama died on July 25th 2019 and was buried at his ancestral home in Nyamambo Village in Kebisoni, Rukungiri District.
