NEWS-Katumba John the former 2021 Presidential Candidate, has come out threatening to hold a peaceful demonstration over the skyrocketing fuel prices.

In his letter to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), John Martins Okoth Ochola, Katumba explains his intentions of holding peaceful protest saying it’s his constitutional right especially given the situation at hand.

There are several versions of the reasons behind the high prices but the most consistent reason is that fuel trucks had been delayed at the boarder due to mandatory COVID-19 testing.

The truck drivers had gone on strike after the government of Uganda directed for mandatory covid19 tests at USD30 but over the weekend, they were cleared to enter Uganda.
