This was revealed by Patience Ampumuza the programs Director of Foundation for Community Development and Empowerment (FCDE) Rukungiri during the launch of “NWODA Water Project” in Omukashanda cell, Nyabushenyi Parish in Nyarushanje sub county, Rukungiri district.

NWODA Water Project was spearheaded by Nyarushanje Women Development Association, a community based organization in Nyarushanje sub county using funds donated by the FCDE aimed at combating scarcity of clean and safe water.

The project valued to have cost over Ugx 7M is slated to benifit over seventy households where 16 will be given water taps and 54 accessible to a 5,000 water tank.

Speaking at the launch, Ampumuza revealed that most people don’t usually care for the donations thinking that they belong to the government or donors thus calling for mindset change and cooperate with “NWODA” for the success of this project.

Ampumuza however called on the NWODA leadership to work hand in hand with sub county and district authorities for the success of the projects in the area.

Jovial Kyobutungyi Kashemererwa the NWODA Executive Director told our reporter that she was concerned early this year when an old woman contracted tetanus after using unsafe water to clean a wound on her body.
