The North Kigezi Diocesan Emeritus Bishop Patrick Tugume Tusingwire has asked Children and they youths to endeavor observing Discipline, protect and portray legacy of their parents.
Bishop Tugume made the remarks today during the Memorial service and thanksgiving of the Late Canon Kimbugwe Jotham at Katurika Senior Secondary in Buhunga Sub County, Rukungiri District.
The Bishop emeritus described the late Kimbugwe as a committed leader who loved Education, something that forced him to start Katurika secondary school in 1980’s where, mobilized funds to construct the first school buildings and became its first head teacher.
He noted that the family of late Kimbugwe still has a mantle to take and a legacy to defend left behind by their late father who was a staunch educationist and strong church pillar.
Canon Twirire the vice chairperson of Katurika Secondary School Board of Governors and the former head teacher who replaced Kimbugwe stressed that they still feel the presence of the achievements that were made by the founder and first head teacher, the Late Jotham Kimbugwe adding that as Board, they are in support to rename one of the boys dormitory and brand it Kimbugwe hall.
Ivan Tumwebaze , the Rukungiri human resource officer who represented the old students said emphasized need school authorities to ensure proper accountability of the funds raised during fundraisings if they’re to seduce them to remain supportive in other initiatives
Emmanuel Ngabirano Kimbugwe, on behalf of the late’s family acknowledged that they are ready to protect and portray the legacy of their fathers name and hailed the school stakeholders for deciding to rename one of the School buildings before his late father.
Muhumuza Sam, the current school head teacher narrated that Kimbugwe was a tall, disciplined, inspirational and innovative giant man who worked hard towards development of the school.
Late Kimbugwe,served in different schools like Kyamakanda secondary school, and Katurika SS in Buhunga among others and he was a teacher of geography, history, and literature in different schools before he retired from active service for other personal business.
Kimbugwe family raised over 4 million shillings and pledged to donate all the required irons sheets towards the renovation of Kimbugwe hall.
A total of Eleven million shillings was raised during the function.
