KAMPALA– The Ministry of health in Uganda has announced more 1,356 people who have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
The new recoveries bring the country’s cumulative recoveries to 74,418 as 794 Ugandans are still admitted in different health facilities battling the virus.
Results from the Ministry also confirmed 405 new cases which is 8.2% positivity rate of the 4,968 samples tested on 22 July 2021 rising the cumulative confirmed cases to 92,115 from 1,445,413 total samples tested.
Statistics from the Ministry also indicate that 30 people have succumbed to Covid19 in the last one day hiking the deathtoll to 2,526.
A Total of 1,110,867 Ugandans have so far been vaccinated against Covid 19 in Uganda.
The new cases include 127 from Kampala, Hoima 38, Wakiso 18, Luwero and Kalungu 17 cases each, Oyam 16, Bukomansimbi 14, Tororo 12, Iganga 11, Ngora and Adjumani 9 cases each, Buvuma and Mubende with 8 cases each, Isingiro 7, Sembabule, Kiboga and Kabarole each with 6 cases.
Pader, Kanungu and Mityana each with 5, Arua, Kabale, Soroti and Nakaseke with 4 cases each, Sironko, Kyotera, Kalangala and Manafwa with 3 cases each.
Mayuge, Kalaki, Butebo, Buikwe, Kiruhura, Nakasongola registered 2 cases each, Kapchorwa, Gulu, Mbarara, Kumi, Yumbe, Mbale, Namutumba,Terego, Kaabong, Mpigi, Buikwe, Jinja, Butambala and Amuru with one case each.
The ministry also registered 7 positive truck drivers with 6 and 1 from Mutukula and Elegu border points of entry respectively.
