Christians embrace free medical camp in Itara COU Convention

The congregation of St. Paul’s Itara Church of Uganda in Mayanga Parish, Kabira Archdeaconry, West Ankole Diocese gathered in gratitude during their church convention, expressing appreciation for the blessings received in the community. The event, which commenced on June 16, features a variety of activities, including a medical camp that provided free treatment to many attendees.

Elder Joy Turinzirwe, the head of laity at St. Paul’s Itara, thanked the community for their participation, encouraging even more people to join in the celebrations. The convention will culminate on Saturday, June 21.

Rev. Annet Mbabazi, the reverend of St. Paul’s Itara, highlighted the convention’s significance, noting it occurs every two years. Rev, Mbabazi specifically acknowledged Onesmus Oyesigye for his efforts in bringing medical professionals to treat various ailments.

The priest expressed her gratitude towards Venerable Stephen Asingwire, the archdeacon of Kabira Archdeaconry, who officially opened the convention on Tuesday, inviting everyone to partake in the spiritual offerings.

Attendees such as Saturday Arthur Abert, Nahamya Monic Tugume, and Agnes Turyasingura voiced their appreciation for the free medical services provided. They thanked the organizers, including Rev. Mbabazi and Archdeacon Asingwire, for their commitment to community health.

Onesmus Oyesigye, who facilitated the medical camp, shared his motivation for providing free medical services. He encouraged more people to attend the convention and witness the work of God firsthand.
