Police in Kanungu have kicked off investigations surrounding the of death a 52 years old man.
The deceased has been identified as Agaba Ivan 52 yrs old peasant farmer resident of Katwa village Bushura parish kirima sub county in Kanungu district.
The incident was reported by Oribariho Eudia aged 62 years old peasant farmer of the same address .according to Elly Maate Kigezi region police mouthpiece the incident occurred at Katwa village Bushura parish, kirima sub county in Kanungu district
Assailant said to have assaulted the deceased on November 19, 2023, at about 02;OOpm, on his way around 20 metres to his home, Oribariho Eudia, his biological sister, woke up to rescue him, but the assailant ran away. At the Kirima police post, there was a report made
After receiving treatment at Kanungu Health Center IV, the victim was transferred to Kabale Hospital. On November 25, 2023, she was again sent to Mbarara Hospital, however she passed away while traveling over the Ntungamo Mbarara Highway. After that, the body wasTaken home for burial.
A team of detectives, led by D/SP David Dauna, Tumusabe Francis D/Soco Kanungu, and Homocide detectives, visited the crime scene and well documented it. postmortem done and body handed over to the relatives for a descent burial. Suspect remains at large as inquires continue.
