RUKUNGIRI- The territorial police in Rukungiri are hunting for suspects for the alleged murder of 45 year old Emmanuel Saturday a resident of Matebe cell Kyamakanda ward Buyanja town council Rukungiri district.
The incident according to ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police Spokesman happened yesterday at around 5Am at Omuyanja cell, Kyamakanda Parish, Buyanja Sub County, Rukungiri District.
The three suspects on the run are Ayebare, a male adult son of Gorrette, Posiano, a male adult son of Byaruhanga and Gorrette, a female adult, all residents of the same above address.
Matte told the press that information was received from the area Chairman of Omuyanja Cell, one Jerome Katabazi regarding the discovery of a dead body at Biguri Trading Centre.
The deceased was identified as one Saturday Emmanuel, an employee of Baryamujura Thomas who was found with injuries/bruises.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing Ayebare, Posiano, and Gorrete assaulting the victim with sticks and bricks. According to some witnesses, they overheard the suspects discussing their plan to flee the scene before the police arrive. However, the motive behind the murder has not yet been established.
Maate adds that after they were notified, a case of murder was opened at Buyanja Police Station, the scene of crime was visited and documented and the
body was conveyed to Rwakabengo Health Centre III pending postmortem examination to establish the possible cause of death.
