Police in Rukungiri have kicked off investigations surrounding the death of a 22 old man.
ASP Elly Maate kigezi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident to journalists that the deceased was allegedly cut to death identifying him as Phillip Nuwahereza.
Nuwahereza was, a resident of Rwonyo Village, Rwanyondo Parish, Nyakishenyi Sub county Rukungiri district
According to the complainant/biological father to the deceased one Milton Ahimbisibwe 58 years a resident of the above address ,It’s alleged that his son now the deceased a casual labourer of the same address left home on the 31/05/2023 at around 05:00pm to unknown destination.
He didn’t return home until Thursday 01/06/2023 at around 06:00am, when they received a phone call that the son had been murdered at Nyakishoroza trading center.
Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate noted that the area Police had also received information from Barigye Portman a driver of an omnibus from Nyakishenyi to Kampala and area Chairperson Mamindi village in Kakyence Parish to have found a dead body in the middle of the road at Nyakishoroza trading center.
Rukungiri CPS was duly notified, scene of crime was visited and documented, and the body was conveyed to Rwakabengo health center III for Postmortem.Maate said police has kicked off investigations to know the exact cause of his death
