2 people perish ,17 injured in Perfect bus accident

Greater Masaka Police  has kicked off investigations to ascertain the circumstances that led to an accident  that claimed  two lives on spot as 17 others sustained serious injuries in a Thursday morning Perfect bus accident.

The accident happened at Nkoko stage, Mudala-Katovu Sub County in Lwengo district at about 2:30am along the Masaka – Mbarara high way.

Police confirmed to journalists saying the incident involved motor vehicle registration number UBF052G belonging to perfect bus company and another unknown Motorvehicle.

According to Police the deceased have been identified as Musinguzi Shimon a 28 year old businessman from Rukungiri and 1 and 8 months juvenile Erist John Witington.

It’s alleged that the bus was traveling from Kampala to Kanungu, when it reached Nkoko stage –Katovu, the unknown motorvehicle loaded with Matooke with full lights on, was coming from Mbarara side to Masaka side.

It is said that it left its left lane and crossed to the right lane and the driver of the bus in the process of avoiding a head on collision lost control and went off the road, overturned in the valley hence killing two passengers on spot and injuring 17 passengers.

Police visited the scene led by the DPC, DTO Lwengo and Kyazanga traffic team, victims were taken to Lyatonde hospital for further management and bodies to Lyatonde mortuary pending postmortem examination.
