The territorial police in Kisoro district registered a fatal road crash that claimed the life of one person and injured two others.
This was on the 14/02/2026 at about 2Pm, at Kagoma village along Kyanakye – Mukaka road in Kanaba sub county Kisoro district, where motor vehicle Reg no UAW 876C Fuso Fighter white in colour was involved.
The deceased according to Kigezi Region Police spokesman ASP Elly Maate is Akansiima Martin aged 28 years, a casual labourer and resident of Kyogo village, Kamwezi sub county in Rukiga district.
Those who sustained injuries are, the driver and another passenger whose particulars are yet to be ascertained.
Maate told the press that it’s alleged that, while the motorvehicle was from Kagoma village loaded with onions heading to Kyanakye as it rained the road was slippery and the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle then overturned in the valley at Kagoma village killing the deceased who was in the co-driver’s seat and also injuring the driver and another passenger on board.
The scene was visited by the traffic team, the victims were rushed to Mutolere Hospital and the body was taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for postmortem, as inquiries are at hand.
